We believe in an integrated life! This means there is no separation between things sacred and things secular, between his and hers, between calling and vocation and between things that are and things that ought to be. It’s all just life. If life is worth living, it’s worth living to the fullest. (John 10:10)
Larry and Mileta began life together in 1971. We traveled the nation singing gospel concerts and preaching, living in a 5th-wheel trailer full time through 1981. Larry entered the ministry of pastor and Mileta turned a hobby in Mary Kay into a career. As we enter the fall season of living, mid 2015, Larry has retired from serving the church in exchange for a living wage and Mileta finds herself climbing into the top of the Mary Kay world.
In this blog we will share how living to the fullest is not an exercise in sacrificing one career for another, but rather a journey together toward a common goal. I can’t imagine more diversity in family than a clergy-person in a conservative denomination like Quaker–and an Independent Beauty Consultant! After 44 years, we are convinced it worked.
I found this quotation from Mark Twain that sums up our new life. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the Tradewinds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
Therefore: We sold everything except a few storage trunks of keepsakes. We purchased a motorhome to live and travel in. As providence would have it, the branding is Tradewinds. We intend through living our life, and through the blog, to show by example how living for Christ can and does result in living life to the fullest. We will cover topics in the fields of personal sales and motivation, motorcycling, reading, the RV lifestyle, and being more together than either one of us could be by ourselves. As so we launch where the TRADEWINDS may take us.
